Limited to 425 copies on Japan paper, binding stamped at the foot of the inside rear cover with a miniature oval gilt stamp depicting a mediaeval bookbinder at his bench, thought to denote that this binding was an entrant for a binding prize.

Provence: (i) bookplate, designed by George Eve, of Ludwig Neumann (1859-1934), collector and connoisseur of art, resident at 11 Grosvenor Square, Belgravia, brother of Sir Sigismund Neumann. The Neumann family made their fortune in South Africa and later changed their name to Newman. Also signed by Neumann in neat ink hand and dated 1898. (ii) bookplate of Herbert Grant Smith (1883-1974), the Charles Lamb scholar.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
