The Festive Fifty 01/12/2017 – Posted in: Blog, Books, Chelsea
Merry December! The Kings Road is once again a mire of terrifying activity, and we have battened down the proverbial hatches to see out the Christmas shopping period from behind the safety of our laptop glass.
Apparently you have done the same! Congratulations: from here you will not be harassed by the Salvation Army, first-time fathers carrying too much wrapping paper, steel-drum bands, HMV, a teenager in a parka buying a lighter for his nan, pickpockets, H from Steps turning on some fairy lights, buggies in the gutter, slow people, the smell of Lush, unaccompanied children, the bitter, bitter winds of time, posh dogs in Barbour jackets and Olly bloody Murs live-tweeting.
As a reward for your
misanthropy sensible decision we have put together the Festive Fifty, a highlight reel of the best things we have decided not to pilfer for our own loved one/ones. You can flick through it below.
There should be something for everyone; however if we are lacking the perfect gift for your estranged third cousin with a Libertines tattoo, then maybe we can help in person. Yes, we think you should come here to do some Christmas shopping, for what we lack in blog continuity is well-made-up-for in personally-tailored book recommendations.
And remember, we shall be holding our locally-renowned Late Night Bookshop nights every Thursday until 8pm until the 23rd. There will be wine (mulled and regular), music (decidedly un-festive) and our staff, with whom you may share an Chelsea-related anecdote or two (maximum 2).
